Thank you Pinterest :)

As if I needed something else to consume my life....
I am now officially addicted to Pinterest....
I find that there are mornings where I spend them searching around the site rather than cleaning....
(Shh...don't tell my husband I'm not cleaning while the 4 year old is at school)

A couple of week's ago while I was on the site I found a cute pin for an easter snack...you can find the pin here...it was for goldfish in a decorating bag with a green ribbon closing it shut...the end product looks like a carrot.  I thought it was such a cute idea and it would be perfect for Samantha's spring party at school.  Since I am a class mom this year I decided it would be a cute project for us both to do for her class.

Today I started the task of making 50 of these lovely carrots for not only Samantha's class but for the afternoon class as well since they are having the spring party together.  I had my helper Samantha for the first 5 or 6 and then she got bored and moved onto something else and left me to make the remaining 44.

They did turn out cute if I don't say so myself and again would like to Thank Pinterest and whoever origanlly posted the idea.

All 50 "Carrots" neatly in a basket...now to just keep them away from the dog until tomorrow.

Kellen's 1st Birthday - Cake Smash....

Meet the birthday boy Kellen....

At Kellen's Birthday party on 3/24/12 we attempted to take some pictures of him smashing his cake.
Kellen's Mom wasn't too sure how he would react to having the cake
in front of him but said we could try it.  So here is how it went.....

Ok...I'm game...I will touch the cake

"What are they making me do?"

"Ok...I will try again..."

"Thanks anyway..I think I am done"

After being repositioned by his Mom he attempted to touch the cake again.

Then it was over and he had enough....

All in all it was very cute to watch him with his birthday cake.  He didn't quite do what we all wanted him to do but he also had a captive audience of family members all cheering him on so he might have had stage freight as well.  I guess we can't quite call this photo session a cake smash session since technically no cake was smashed...lol.

Big thanks need to go out to Pat Rex who not only made Kellen's 1st birthday dinosaur cake and Kamryn's 4th Birthday My Little Pony cake but she also made a replica dinosaur cake so Kellen could smash it.

Next year we will try again and bring in the big sister and cousin to show him how to do it..

Easter Photo Session

What gorgeos weather we had today...it started off a tad chilly but towards the early afternoon it was gorgeous.  A light sweater and you were good to go.  I took the opportunity to dress the 4 year old up in her Easter dress and bribed her if she was good I would take her to the park after we took pictures.  She was all game for it so we headed over to a local park where I had high hopes of having Samantha's pictures taken next to the white gazebo and the lovely flowers (that may or may not have been there) in the rose garden....well the 4 year old had other ideas (of course).  She had remembered when we were at the park last April doing a photoshoot for a girl who is in dance and was getting pictures of herself taken in all of her different costumes (you can find the post here).  Samantha wanted her pictures taken in the same spots...silly me I should have known that.  After a brief battle I caved and we turned around and headed over to the bridge.  It turns out the spot worked out perfect and the pictures are priceless.

I think this one is my favorites

Flying Samantha...of course her Daddy had to be silly with her.
