Project Life 2013

Two years ago my mother introduced me or convinced me to try and do Project Life...
Project Life, for those of you who don't know what it is, is a project that you work on throughout the year documenting your everyday life and scrapbooking them.  The concept is to take a picture everyday and scrapbook it....instead of just documenting major events such as birthdays, holidays, etc.  Ever since starting it I have fallen in love with the concept.  It is so much fun for not only me but also my husband and daughter to go back through previous years albums and remember the fun times we had on a daily basis - whether it was me documenting the dog making a mess while we were out or us having an ice cream party at night (just the 3 of us).  It is a fun way to remember the everyday things that can get overlooked.

Here is the start of my 2013 album....

It's a work in progress....I need to print out a picture of myself and jazz it up a little.

I also need to finish up my 2012 album...I am so far behind on that and can't seem to get motivated to complete it.  I will one of these days......

Stay tuned for more pages from my 2013 Project Life Album.

Quote of the Day

Trying very hard to stay positive these days and to not let the little things get to me.

Quote of the Day...

I found this quote on pinterest while I was on it today and it just seemed perfect for my life at this exact moment in time.  Things happen for a reason and we just need to embrace it and let everything else go.  Everything will work itself out in the end.

This Week's Instagram pics...

So I am finding out that I am taking more and more of my daily pictures with my camera on my phone instead of lugging around the big Canon T2i or even my small compact camera (which I usually forget at home).

Here are some of this week's excitement....

Samantha and her friend Madison bouncing in the bounce house

Samantha and her cousins at The Rainforest Cafe...
Celebrating Samantha's birthday again.

Hanging with Porky Pig at Six Flags Great Adventure...

Went to the Patriots game on Tuesday and the clouds were gorgeous
(the picture doesn't do it justice at all)

Oh Coffee...how you make my day a little better

Instagram Pics...my new obsession

Like I really need something else to consume my time and take me away from cleaning, organizing and so forth.  Recently Instagram came to the Droid phones and I decided to check out what the hype was all about.  I quickly got consumed with taking pics with my phone and posting them on Instagram.  I even took my first 10 pictures and paid alot of money to have them printed out as 4x4's.  Since then though I have figured out how to have them printed out at home or I send them to Costco and have it printed on a 4x6 print and I cut it down.

I like the fact that you can change the look of the photo with just a touch of the button...it can be left in its original or made black and white, sepia, etc.

The Baby Boy Oscar

I was trying to eat my dinner but someone wanted some too

Me and my baby girl Samantha

The 4 year old painting her own toes

Kellen trying to climb up the slide at Kid Junction

Samantha driving to the firehouse

I have used a lot of these pictures within my Project Life album....it adds a little something extra to it.

It's time to get off the computer and do a little work around the house before it's time to pick up the Baby Girl from school.

LIFE....

While sneaking some of my daughters school snacks yesterday I read the back of the
Goldfish Pretzel bag and thought how true it was.

It's all about the little things in life that make everything else all ok.

Project Life.....Week One...2012

Project Life is all about documenting the everyday things.....

Taking a moment out of your hectic schedule and snapping a picture of what is going on right then and there...whether it's walking into the house after going out and finding the dog got into the garbage and it is now all over your kitchen floor or your 4 year playing contently on the floor by herself or even that same 4 year old having an all out temper tantrum.

I started my first Project Life book in 2011 and had lots of fun capturing that picture each day of what was going on in our "normal" lives...not just capturing birthday's, holiday's, etc.  My daughter even got involved and would say "Mommy...you should take that picture.  It would be a good picture of the day."  (Yes I know...I have created a monster...she is as addicted to a camera at the age of 4 as I am now).  To this day we still go through the book and can recall what we did or what happened on a particular day.

This year I decided to take on Project Life again....your suppose to choose a "word" for the year that has some kind of meaning or something that you want to accomplish for the year.  If you refer back to an older post (http://www.emilietomarophotography.blogspot.com/2012/01/to-2012.html) I talked about my "word" for the year.  It's the same as 2011 but "TAKE TWO".

To 2012....

Dear 2012,

My word for the year is Simplify...take 2

My goal for this year is just to Simplify everything...get rid of the clutter in the house, get the budget/money/bills under control, organize the house, etc.  Just simply make life simpler :).

My word for 2011 was Simplify as well and one thing led to another and I wasn't truly able to get control of life and Simplify things thus this year my word is Simplify...take 2.  I am going to give myself weekly goals of little things to do here and there and over the next 50 weeks actually accomplish those goals so that by the end of 2012 life is Simpler and not so Complicated.

Happy (Belated) New Year To All!
I hope we can all Simplify something in our lives.
